Little Learners Math Fun
Questions & answers

Everything parents ask.

And if your question isn’t here, just reach out — I’m happy to help.

What grades and subjects do you tutor?

Math only, for kindergarten through 5th grade. Focusing exclusively on elementary math means I know it deeply — the curriculum, the common stumbling blocks, and how young kids actually learn it.

Where do sessions happen?

In your home, anywhere in Arlington — it’s convenient for busy families and comfortable for kids. If you’d prefer a neutral spot, we can also meet at a local public library by arrangement.

Is there really a free trial?

Yes. Every new family starts with a free 20-minute meet-and-assess: we say hello, your child does a short, friendly math diagnostic, and you get an honest plan — with no cost and no obligation.

How much does it cost?

Prepaid packages start at $560 for 8 sessions ($70/session), with lower per-session rates on larger packages. New families also get $40 off their first package. Full details are on the pricing page — no hidden consultation fees.

Why a minimum of 8 sessions?

Research on tutoring is consistent: around 8 sessions is where real, lasting progress begins. Fewer than that rarely sticks, and I want your investment to genuinely pay off for your child.

How do you align with my child’s school?

I substitute-teach in Arlington Public Schools and teach to the same enVision curriculum and 2023 Virginia SOL standards your child is learning and tested on. If you share their NWEA MAP scores, I’ll use those to target exactly the right skills.

Do you help kids who are behind — and kids who want to get ahead?

Both. Some families come to close a gap before it snowballs; others want to preview next grade’s material over the summer. The free intro tells us which path fits your child.

How are you different from Mathnasium, Kumon, or Sylvan?

I’m a true one-on-one tutor — never a group of six — and a K-5 math specialist, not a K-12 center. You get the same tutor every session, a monthly progress report no center provides, and transparent pricing right on this site.

Are you background-checked?

Yes. As an Arlington Public Schools substitute teacher, I’ve passed a comprehensive, fingerprint-based background check — the same vetting the school district requires.

What is the monthly progress report?

Each month you get a clear, written summary mapping your child’s mastery to grade-level standards — what improved, what we’re working on next, in real terms. With a background in Statistics, tracking progress honestly is something I take seriously.

When are sessions available?

Currently Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM, with additional times by special request. Back-to-back sessions are welcome if you’d like a longer block.

What languages do you speak?

English, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi — so I can connect warmly with Arlington’s many multilingual families.

My child has math anxiety. Can you help?

Absolutely — that’s often where we start. A child who believes they “can’t do math” won’t learn it, so we rebuild confidence with small, genuine wins before pushing into harder material.
